Palais des Dunes is a traditionnal berber building of the area of Merzouga, quite long with large rooms protected from the sun. It is not far away of the first sand dunes, no more than fifteen minutes by foot. The dunes then continues overs more than 20 kilometres, towards Algeria and endless Sahara.

A very convenient starting point for a tour in Merzouga, Palais des Dunes welcomes you for a short stop or a longer stay. You will enjouy the swimming-pool, or the large terrasse from which you can admire the stars.

Traidtionnal Berber decoration is know for its bounty colours, and geometric patterns. Craftsmen use wrought iron, and the rooms are adorned with numerous rugs and carpets, the adobe walls have irregular surfaces but protect efficiently from the sun, and their colours, dimmed by the shadows, suddenly irradiate when the light of a window leaks in a lobby...
Palais des Dunes uses the ressources of the area, whether marmor slates with fossiles, Berber kilims (rugs, which are also called henbels) and zeliges. Here you can fully enjoy moroccan tradition, enhanced by the modernity of air-conditionning and swimming-pool.
